Company History


In the 1970’s, the group traded mainly in the cement trade buying from Japan and selling into the Arabian Gulf through sales offices in Jeddah, Dhahran and Dubai. With the self sufficiency in the cement industry in the Arabian Gulf in the late 1970's, the group concentrated on the affreightment of dry cargo commodities, mainly Fertilizers, Wheat, Rice, Scrap, Sugar, Oil seeds, and Meals .

In 1999, the group recommenced its commodity trading operations and has imported fertilizers, pulses, and edible oil seeds. During this period to date, Group Companies have imported large volumes of lentils and pulses and marketed them throughout Pakistan.

An expansion on the trading side has been planned for 2004 and beyond with primary focus on other commodities.
Harmony Commodities LLC was formed in 2000 and is a sister concern of Harmony Shipping LLC.
The company holds a General Trading License and is located in Dubai. The company has two divisions:

1) Foodstuffs
2) Commodity Broking

Food stuffs

The company offers a complete supply chain solution by offering door to door delivery service to our clients as it has a logistical presence in the UAE.

The food stuff division deals with the supply of various niche products within the UAE such as

· Full cream and skimmed milk powders
· Refined sugar
· Whey powder
· Pulses and lentils
· Meat extractions for the animal feed industry
· Rice
· Corn flakes

Commodity Broking

The commodity broking division represents two large European based agro-commodity trading houses – Soufflet Negoce (www.souffletcommodities.com) and Cremer Gruppe (www.cremer-gruppe.com).


Sales close to $ 400 million (over 1, 500,000 metric tons of cargo) have been achieved in just under 5 years in the Pakistan and Middle Eastern Markets.
The main trade has been in

· Feed Grains
· Animal feed compounds and meal extractions
· Oilseeds
· Soyabeans
